Saturday Swatch: Revlon Naughty
The is only one hour left in this Saturday, but it’s been a while since I have done a Saturday Swatch, and I thought I could fit one in.
Today’s swatch does feature a teensy bit of nail art, haha, but eight out of my ten fingers were sporting Revlon’s Naughty, so we’ll just call it a swatch. ;)
Naughty is a beautiful purpley-brown mushroom color with a vibrant violet shimmer. Naughty is a re-release of Revlon’s Perplex, which is the dupe of the highly coveted Chanel Paradoxal.
Here is what Naughty’s base color looks like when it’s not giving off the violet shimmer.
In total: The formula on this polish is great. It is super pigmented and applies gorgeously, giving full coverage in two easy coats. As for wear, I only wore this manicure for about two days before I took it off myself, so I am unaware on how it performs in this area. Although, I’ve seen other reviews, and have yet to read a negative comment regarding wear. As for the color? L-o-v-e. I have been coveting Revlon’s Perplex for the longest time, and am extremely happy with Revlon’s decision to re-release it. This is now definitely my favorite shroomy color in my collection. One complaint that people may have though, is that the violet shimmer is more pronounced in the bottle than when painted on the nail. Personally, I actually like that it is more subtle, as it makes the polish have that *special* effect, haha, but that’s just my opinion!

Do any of you ever experience camera flashes not being able to capture neon colors? It blanks them out totally.

Neon nails are sunshine nails. The only problem with this polish? Chip galore. Other than that, it’s as perfect as a neon pink can get.
Long square; red.
I got this nail polish while I was in El Salvador for only 45 cents, so crazy cheap. This was at the beginning of my nail polish craze and I only had maybe 10 colors at most. I loved this one, and these nails for me at the time were considered super long!
I really like looking at old pics. Anybody getting into nail polish, or any hobby really, should always take beginning pictures of their work. It’s fun to see your progression of work and how far you’ve come.

Aw, thanks so much! :D That means a lot to me, and I sure can!
The polishes I used for this mani, were about 10 nail polishes. You totally don’t need that many to create this look. The only reason I used so many was because I was largely just experimenting with colors, and purposely wanted to use a lot of nail polishes. So, here they are going from lightest to darkest (bottom of the nail, upwards).

Charlotte Russe - Taffy, Revlon - Blue Lagoon, Carla’s Franken (this one is a mixed creation), Essie - Coat Azure, L.A. Colors - Sea Siren, L.A. Colors - (has no name), N.Y.C. - Blue Denim Creme, L.A. Colors - Blue Lagoon.

Like I said before, you DO NOT need to use this many nail polishes to create a successful gradient, if anything it is probably easier to use just 3 base gradient colors (a light blue, medium blue, and dark blue), and perhaps a really sheer blue to blend the rough edges together. I used my Franken and the L.A. Colors no name polish for this job. As for the glitter polish, one is enough, if layered more densely on the top, then lighter at the bottom, to create that “falling” look.
Oh, and a good thick top coat to make it smooth, shiny, and blended!
I know this was a long post for just a list of colors, but I wanted to thoroughly explain the colors, and their purpose and such, because I don’t want anyone to be intimidated to do this kind of look, or think it absolutely requires all these nail polishes, because it doesn’t!
